So this week I would like to make some comments on reality T.V. I went with this little nugget of pop culture to stay with last week’s work. So I am sitting with my family having dinner and watching television when a show named Rock of Love with Brett Michael’s comes on ( I am pretty sure that is how you spell it). Let’s just say that having a few beers will make this show even worse than it is sober.
I was amazed at what was I was seeing! A group of girls, some of which have more plastic in them then a Tupperware set, are all fighting for the chance to get with Brett Michael’s. This is quite possibly the dumbest show I have ever seen. I actually wanted my time back after it was over. For me to sum it up for everyone is easy and I can do it in two words…train wreck! First of all the guy is a washed up has been. The only reason he is still relevant is because of this show. Second, where do they get these girls from? Most of them look like they just of the pole. The clothes they are wearing or lack there of, is disgusting. They don’t look good wearing lingerie when they are trying to complete manual labor tasks. I don’t even know what to say anymore, I can’t believe that there is even a show like this on television.
I will say that I did watch the whole show. I had to see for myself that it was as bad as I thought it was going to be. Let’s just say it did not disappoint. Although I thought this was the dumbest show ever I can recognize that it has some form of entertainment value to some people. That is proven because it is still on T.V. To wrap up, I am calling Time Warner to have them cancel that channel from my monthly line-up!

ReplyDeleteThis show is a total train wreck, and one that I didn't seem to be able to turn away from either! I'm amazed that women still want to "be with" Brett Michaels too, although I think a lot of them are only interested in getting their faces on TV. I don't think there are any Mensa members on the Rock of Love bus!

It is truly amazing how awful T.V. has become. I usually do not watch reality T.V. just because almost all of the women are not real. And how desperate are the men that they have to have a T.V. show made so that they can feel special?

ReplyDeleteI could not agree with you more about wanting your time back. I think for the most part that reality TV comes from creators that have no creativity. I remember the days when I couldn't wait to watch my favorite show. Now it is hard to even find a favorite show that has had real effort put into creating it.
ReplyDeleteI compleatly agree with you ! The show it's self is compleatly trash and a wast of time. However I think what amazes me the most is that for some reason this will be his third season on VH1 and the show keeps getting ratings. Do people not understand good concepts any more or is it all so money drivin that they will place anything on T.V as long as it sells sells sells !

I wonder if so many people like us think this way then why is it still on? I mean I have seen way better shows (not reality) be cancelled with far better ratings then that show. Are there really, honestly women out there that still think a big-hair band junkie from the 80's is still hot. I agree with you all....what a waste of cable space!

ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I read your blog. The comment about the girls having plastic in them and fresh off the pole was classic! Most of these reality shows are completely ridiculous.
